External factors
The mantle of the clam is stimulated by the invasion of foreign matter (sand grains, parasites). The cells secrete nacre, which wraps the nucleus layer by layer to form a pearl. With foreign matter as the seed, it is called "Seed Zhenzhu ".
Internal cause
After the outer skin of the mantle is stimulated by pathology, a part of the cells undergo cell division and then separate, and then they are coated with the organic substances secreted by themselves, and at the same time gradually sink into the connective tissue of the mantle, forming pearl sacs and then pearls. Because there is no foreign matter as the seed, it is called " Seedless Zhenzhu ".
