b. Soak the seeds. Soak the seeds in warm water at 30 to 40 ℃ for 24 hours, pulled out, and dried slightly, then you can sow the seeds.
c. Sowing. Autumn sowing or spring sowing can be, autumn sowing before the freeze, or spring sowing in April. The seed germination rate is 80 to 90% in the same year, and the seed germination rate is only 40 a 50% the next year. Generally, use strip sowing, according to the row spacing 15 ~ 20 cm open ditch, 1-2 cm deep, the seeds evenly scattered into the ditch, mulch, keep the soil moist, about 20 days to seedlings. The number of seeds sown is about 3 kg per mu.
d. Rootstock propagation. It can be done both in spring and autumn. After the ground stems and leaves withered, before the sprouting in spring, the underground rhizome will be shaved out, cut off the fibrous roots, and cut into long sections of 3-5 cm, each section with buds 1 to 2, according to the row spacing 15-20 cm trench, planting distance 10-12 cm, mulch and watering. Use about 150 kg of seedlings per mu.
Field management
a. Seedling thinning. When the seedlings are 2 to 3 cm high, remove the weak and dense seedlings, and set the seedlings at a distance of about 10 cm between plants when the seedlings are about 6 cm high.
b. Mid-tillage and weeding. Seedlings grow very slowly, pull weeds and loosen the soil when they are about 3 cm high, and keep the soil in the ground loose and weed-free during the growing period to facilitate the growth of seedlings.
c. Fertilizer. Seedlings to chase nitrogen fertilizer, chasing 1500 kg of manure per mu, or 6 kg of urea, watered once after application. In the later stage, fertilizer should be nitrogen and potassium fertilizer, with 10 kg of urea and 7 kg of potassium chloride per mu, or 20 kg of compound fertilizer.
d. Carex. After the flowering of the shoots, it consumes a lot of nutrients and affects the growth of underground stems. Therefore, in addition to the seed-saving land, cutting flowering shoots in time to promote the thickening and growth of underground stems is one of the important measures to increase the yield of Zhi Mu.
